CASHEW NUTS (DRIED)
Cashew nut is produced from cashew tree and has the botanical name of Anacardium occidentale, it has a pear-shaped structure, with colour ranging from light red to yellow, and its fruit is pulpy or juicy and the skin delicate, it is grown in tropical areas.
Cashew nuts are notable for its high levels of iron, magnesium, zinc, copper, phosphorus, and manganese.
SESAME SEEDS
Sesame is a flowering plant in the genus Sesamum, also called benne. Sesame seed is small and flat and has the shape of melon seed, it comes in different shades of colour such as light yellow, light brown, white, black, cream and more.
Sesame seed has numerous health and nutritional benefits, it includes minerals like phosphorous, copper, thiamin, iron calcium, vitamin B6, manganese, protein, magnesium, zinc etc., and also vitamins.
Sesame’s seeds oil content is high and has a rich, nutty flavour and is widely grown for its use as cooking oil.
SHEA NUTS
Shea Nuts obtained from shea tree, shi tree and is indigenous to Africa. The seed is rich in oil in which the shea butter is extracted.
Shea Nuts is composed of five principal fatty acids: Palmitic, Stearic, Oleic, Lanoleic and Arachidic. It has also phenolic compounds and are known to have antioxidant.
SHEA BUTTER (RAW)
Shea butter is a fat extracted from the nut of the African shea tree. It is usually ivory in color when raw, with more processed versions being white in color. It can be yellow when a root is added to it. It is widely used in cosmetics as a moisturizer, salve or lotion.
HIBISCUS
Hibiscus sabdariffa also called roselle is a species of Hibiscus probably native to West Africa.
It is rich in vitamin C, minerals, and antioxidants and helps in the treatment of hypertension and anxiety.
RAW GINGER AND DRIED GINGER ROOTS
Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is a flowering plant whose rhizome ginger root is widely used as a spice and medicine. It is a herbaceous perennial which grows annual pseudostems (false stems made of the rolled bases of leaves) about a meter tall bearing narrow leaf blades. The inflorescences bear pale yellow with purple flowers and arise directly from the rhizome on separate shoots.
The health benefits of ginger are largely due to its antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties and content of therapeutic compounds like gingerol, shogaol, paradol and zingerone.
